Building a Diocese of hope, healing, and justice
In the Diocese of Liverpool, we are united in our faith-driven commitment to racial justice, equity, and inclusion, recognising our role in healing and reconciliation. The Slavery Truth Project is part of our ongoing journey to acknowledge the past, tell the truth about our shared history, and build a future rooted in justice and grace.

Our Vision
The Slavery Truth Project exists to help our churches, schools, and worshipping communities engage honestly with the legacy of African Enslavement and its continuing impact on racial inequality today.
This work is part of a wider diocesan commitment to truth, justice, and inclusion, recognising that facing our history is a vital step toward healing and renewal.
We are committed to a process of truth-telling, repentance, and transformation that allows everyone to encounter God’s love through dignity, equality, and belonging.
Through dialogue, art, worship, and education, we seek to uncover difficult truths and respond with faith, creativity, and hope.
Our Latest Church
St. Bride’s is now the third church to participate in the Diocese of Liverpool’s Slavery Truth Project. Click below for more information about how St. Bride’s used performance and storytelling to confront difficult truths about their past.
